Last Friday, I was honored to participate at Nassau County Executive Laura Curran's COVID-19 press conference . County Executive Curran showcased the newly completed expansion of the Motor Parkway Trail, a multi-use trail that currently spans from Hofstra University to Eisenhower Park. The expansion was completed in time for National Bike Month, which runs through the month of May. Here County Executive Curran is holding up a photo of the Alco Black Beast during the 1909 Vanderbilt Cup Race at the exact spot of the press conference.
The Motor Parkway Trail and the Alco Black Beast receives a shout-out at the 6:00 mark.
The Alco Black Beast is scheduled to participate in Monday's Memorial Day Parade.
The parade can be watched live on this Nassau County Facebook Page.
The Accident- July 2017
Amazingly, the Black Beast's accident was captured on film. While filming a segment of Fusion TV's Car versus America in July 2017, the bracket holding the fan broke and crashed into the radiator. It took over a year to fabricate a special new radiator.
The accident can be seen at the 4:52 minute mark of the below film.

And a tucker in the back!
Howard, good luck with the repaired Black Beast. I’m looking forward to the live stream of the parade.
So thrilled that I rode shotgun once! Glad the Black Beast is back on the road.
