Highlights from the First Day of the Vanderbilt Race Centennial Celebration


The first day of the Vanderbilt Race Centennial Celebration at the Cradle of Aviation was a big success with the car show, demostration runs and exhibit generating a lot of excitement and smiles:



 



 

The Classic Car Show of America Car Show,hosted by the Long Island Sound Region, brought out over 50 beautiful classics, street rods, and custom cars.



 



 

Twenty drivers demonstrated their skills on the autocross course.



 

Howard Kroplick and Josh Stoff, Curator of the Cradle of Aviation, ride the Black Beast.



 



 



 

The opening day of the new Vanderbilt Cup Race exhibit in the atrium was a big hit attracting over 500 people.



 



 

A special guest to this weekend's event is pionnering race car driver Janet Guthrie.



Come out to the Cradle of Aviation today and enjoy the second day of the Celebration. Highlights and a video will be posted on Tuesday:

-Vanderbilt Race Centennial Demonstration Runs, classic, vintage and competition sports cars of all makes and ages in action including the 1909 Alco Black Beast Racer.


-Car Show for Vintage cars, Classic cars and Pre-War Trucks, Fire Trucks and Police Cars, hosted by the Long Island Sound Region of the Classic Car Club of America.
