Sad News: We Lost a Good Friend and Master Mechanic
I am sad to inform you that my friend Sam Greco passed away on Friday.
Sam was a very good man and a master mechanic who loved his family, cars and the Alco Black Beast. He and I shared many memorable times as seen below.
May his life continue through his family and friends and that the wonderful memories of Sam always be a blessing. Condolences to the Greco family.
Howard

This is extremely difficult and surreal that I have to write this. One of the best men I know has passed away today, my father- Sam Greco. We had lots of good times and I have a lot of great memories. You will forever be missed and I love you more than you know. You have been taken away from us too soon. I will never get over this.

Another Sam, III? Never realized. That somehow makes it more personal to me. This is a sad blow to HK and the whole Greco family. My sincerest condolences to all. Sam, III
So sorry for the loss ....
I am in shock to say the least. SO very sorry to read this news. I knew Sam and his parents as well through the many car activities that we used to all attend , especially the commemorative reruns/celebrations held to honor the anniversary of the Vanderbilt Cup Races that were organized by the Long Island Old Car Club VMCCA. For many years we also saw each other at the tuesday night cruise night on Dogwood Avenue. My sincerest condolences to the Greco family.
Thanks for sharing.May he rest in peace
So very sorry to hear this. It was always so good to see Sam and family at Easter Parade and at The Westbury Car Show. Always the Gentleman, and SUCH a lovely family.
Howard, Sad to hear about the passing of Sam Greco. I turned to him on several occasions when I was restoring my Fulton truck, extremely knowledgeable, always helpful. The hobby will miss him.
Howard so sorry for your loss and our condolences to his family Jerry and Rita

I’m so sorry to hear this. Rest In Peace Sam.
Nick Greco, I went to GC schools with your Dad. I am so terribly sorry for your sudden loss. It is very hard to lose a loved one, but a parent is the worst. All of our hearts from the GC Class of 1983 go out to you and your family. In the pictures, he looks like he Truly Lived his Dream! Not too many folks can say that. He was blessed.
So sorry to hear. Some great memories there.
Having lost a close friend myself at Sam’s age I understand the sadness and shock of his passing. May he rest in peace and may you Howard and his family cherish his memory.
Howard, So sorry to hear the news about Sam’s passing. Our sincere condolences.

The Greco family told me on Monday that they really appreciate all your tributes to Sam. He will be missed.
Sam’s dad and I were friends for too short a period of time. Then Sammy and I met at Hershey, and he was so respectful of his dad and the rest of us old brass car guys. We will miss him so much. Gone from us far, far too soon. A rare person. Loved his family & old cars.
Im am so sorry for your loss! He was my first boyfriend. We were 14. We moved on. But he holds a place in my heart. Beautiful man. Beautiful family. You never forget your first love ❤️
