Newsday’s Big Apple Almanac: Willie K’s Speedway
In the 1990s a regular feature of the Sunday Newsday were the color illustrations of New York history by artist Patrick M. Reynolds. The September 3rd and 10th, 1990 issues featured these cartoons of the Motor Parkway and the 1910 Vanderbilt Cup Race.

Comments
I must’ve not been paying to much attention to Newsday then. Now I’ll look through the archives on Live Library/ProQuest. Accurate drawings.
I remember these well, wish they were still going on or would start up again.
