Long Island Motor Parkway Bridge Series:#22 Oyster Bay LIRR Bridge Williston Park & East Williston
One-third through documenting the 65 Long Island Motor Parkway bridges going west to east, the 22nd bridge is the Oyster Bay Long Island Rail Road bridge between Williston Park and East Williston. Thanks to Ron Ridolph, there are wonderful ground photos of the bridge.

1909 Surveys
West of the railroad tracks, the Motor Parkway purchased 13.631 acres from the Wheatley Hills Company.
East of the railroad tracks, most of the Motor Parkway right-of-way (7.3 acres) was purchased from Alexander Campbell.
1926 Aerial
The Oyster Bay LIRR bridge was built in 1909, the second Motor Parkway bridge over a railroad.
1927 Photo
The view looking east towards Roslyn Road and the Roslyn Lodge. The guardrails protected the east embankment of the railroad bridge.

In the early 1980s, Ron Ridolph photographed the Long Island Motor Parkway from Fresh Meadows to Lake Ronkonkoma. Among the events documented by Ron was the demolition of the bridge between Williston Park and East Williston in 1983.
