Kleiner’s Korner: Part 1 - Illustrations of the 1906 Vanderbilt Cup Race Participants
An earlier post provided an artist's view of the Vanderbilt Cup Races. Additional illustrations here include caricatures of the 1906 race and leading drivers. International interest in the race is very clearly expressed through the illustrations. Taken from The Automobile (Sept. 27 & Oct. 11, 1906), Motor Age (Oct. 4 & Oct 11, 1906) and Motor Way (Oct. 11, 1906).

Note the location at the bottom right: "At the Clothes Pin Turn".
Caption: "Puzzle Picture - What are they looking for?". My guess is their nation's entry.
Caption: "Lancia had hard work sneaking off Jenatzy."
Getting a good night's sleep before the race at $5 per (person or night?).
Uncle Sam will wait once again!
